Dr. Atch Sreshthaputra is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. Upon receiving his Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) from Chulalongkorn University in 1993, he was awarded the scholarship from the Royal Thai government to pursue his Master of Science (M.S.) from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and later, a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Texas A&M University in 2003. His Ph.D. dissertation was also awarded the King Medal for Excellence in Architectural and Environmental Design Research by the Architectural Research Centers Consortium (ARCC), USA in 2004 and by the National Research Council (Thailand) in 2006.    

Since arriving Thailand, Dr. Sreshthaputra has engaged in a number of research and design projects both in Thailand and oversea. His professional works include a 40-story office building named the National Energy Complex, a 30-story hospital building-- Vichaiyuth Medical Center, a 11-story office building of the Metropolitan Energy Authority, and several Thai embassy buildings oversea. Dr. Sreshthaputra has become known for his serious engagement with issues of sustainability, climate-responsive design, energy conservation, and vernacular architecture in the tropics. In 2006, he won the first prize on the low-energy house design competition organized by the Energy Promotion & Policy Office (EPPO), the Energy Ministry of Thailand.

Academically, Dr. Atch Sreshthaputra has conducted several research on building energy efficiency, thermal comfort, and heat and airflow in and around buildings using thermal simulation and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) computer programs. He has been awarded a number of research grants from the Thai government agencies such as the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency of Thailand, which he develops energy conservation codes for small and medium residential and commercial buildings in Thailand. Along with his colleagues at Chulalongkorn University, he has founded the Center of Excellence in Building and Environmental Technology to continue his research in this area.

Currently, Dr. Sreshthaputra is actively joining national professional societies such as the Association of Siamese Architects (ASA) and the Thai Architects Council. He has been selected as the Vice President of ASA for a period of 2006-2008. His responsibility at the society includes outlining continuous professional development programs and also cooperating with other Asia-Pacific architectural societies. He was also appointed as a committee of the Ministry of Energy.
